    Voilà le résumé des questions / réponses les plus importantes du 11/11/2007 au 14/11/2007. Pour les messages entiers, lisez le post d'après (en anglais)

    - Dans les listes d'items, pour les M-Speed indiquées pour les chaussures, vous devez enlever 50 aux chiffres qui sont donnés pour avoir le chiffre qui sera réellement affiché in-game dans les stats de l'item
    Donc par exemple si c'est écrit 83 dans la liste, ça sera affiché 33 in-game
    Normalement Leo devrait modifier la liste pour qu'on n'ait plus besoin de faire ce calcul en lisant les listes. (Mais ça fait déjà plusieurs jours qu'il est censé l'avoir fait et c'est toujours pas fait tongue)

    - Les clerics seront encore assez forts, mais ne domineront plus. La puissance des autres jobs a été augmentée pour être au même niveau que les clerics. Mais les clerics auront du mal contre les mobs qui ont une forte mdef

    - Les soldiers ont bien améliorés. Mais ils sont en train de modifier ce qu'ils ont fait car ça les a rendus invincibles

    - Les eqs Ferrell Bag, Astarot Wing, Tiger Backshield & Lizard Backshield qui étaient dans la liste ne vont pas être ajoutés in-game (en drop ou en craft) dans cette mise à jour. La seule chose qui sera faite, c'est que leurs stats vont être modifiées. Ils ont été retirés de la liste pour éviter les confusions. Mais ils ont l'intention de les mettre dans une autre mise à jour

    - La durée de cooldown de l'essence pour les armes de cart va être ajustée

    - Ils ont l'intention d'ajouter de nouveaux types de blues dans le futur : nouveaux préfixes qui ajoutent de nouvelles stats. Du coup ils n'ont pas l'intention de faire en sorte que la stat donnée par le préfixe Legend dépende du job de l'eq (dex pour hawker, str pour soldier, etc...)

    - La puissance mais aussi la durée du cooldown de Meteorite Flow vont être réduites

    - La dex ne va pas augmenter la mspd dans cette mise à jour. Ce genre de modification demande beaucoup d'étude de la chose et donc apparemment ils ne vont pas non plus toucher à la façon dont sont gérés les dommages, le dodge, l'attack speed

    - Sur les eqs refinés, le dodge s'affiche correctement, mais la valeur totale du dodge ne s'affiche pas correctement dans la fenêtre de stats, mais le dodge correct semble être pris en compte lors des combats

    - Ils vont aussi ajuster les stats des items de l'item mall

    - Apparemment ils sont vraiment décidés à faire le serveur de test pour éviter qu'il y ait d'éventuels problèmes sur le serveur principal

    Et comme il a été dit des tonnes de fois déjà mais ça a l'air d'être les questions à la mode :

    - Pas de reset de skills/stats

    - Pas d'ajout de prérequis de job sur les shields

    Edit du 15/10/2007 :
    - Le serveur de test sera ouvert pendant 2 semaines. Pendant qu'ils mettent en place ce serveur, les devs en profitent pour continuer à faire des ajustements et s'avancer dans les mises à jour suivantes

    Ah, yes there was a mistake in the listing for movement speed for shoes. We identified the issue and it's a simple subtraction of 50 to show you the rate of movement that will be reflected in-game. I apologize for the confusion, the lists will be updated as soon as possible.

    Thanks Rescudo, that does make sense now and I can understand the question. Well, the answer would be because we intend to add more equipment to game play. It will take some time, but we'll get it all out there eventually.

    Once before the question was brought to us about making "Legend" equipment be the focused stat for the class type that wears it. As good of an idea as it was, it was unfortunately impossible to do because after 100, when you switch to that 2nd class, stat needs changed. So we weren't able to keep up with that idea easily. Instead it was decide that additional equipment would be needed, however it will also take additional time to implement these new items. So it's one of the many plans we have slated for the future updates in ROSE.

    Unfortunately, these items were included to the list by mistake. Although we did make sure to update them properly with the guidelines for balance, they are not yet ready for inclusion to the game. We have other plans for these items.

    I mentioned that there was the possibility, because of the number of items that may have been incorrectly labeled, I also explained that if the item provided a bold text, DEX attribute, it was likely to be named "Legend", in case it was not. The values of attributes would be undergoing a scale design that was created so that the bonuses also scale with higher level equipment.

    Dodge will refine with upgrades, however there is a bug we're currently working to get corrected that may prove to be more difficult then we believed.

    Here are the current notes to the bug:
    Dodge & Refine Rates:
    The dodge on equipment is increasing visually on the equipment to the intended rate and level of dodge desired, however once the item is equipped, the total value of dodge does not properly display in the character status menu. Although the character status menu does not display properly, it is believed the dodge rate is still being properly calculated. At this time, there is no means to confirm this 100% and is based on chance of hit testing through actual combat.

    Don't worry, soldiers got a good improvement. We've been holding mini PvP battles as tests to see how well different skill builds work and they're able to take quite a thrashing now.

    We're still in the middle of reviewing the skill changes though, our first draft made them immortal. @_@

    Hawkers main is dex for all the weapons
    Soldier is Str for all
    Muse is Int for all
    Dealer is the only one I can think might have this problem...

    Actually, it isn't true, depending on the specialization you may want to build into for some classes.

    Dex doesn't have as big of an influence to Dual Wields, as Katars, same as for the Dealer's class, guns over launchers. Yes, they have a kind attachment to certain classes, but that would then mean we are setting character build guidelines and limitations, when we want that to be apart of the creative process of the player.

    Looking down the future, we'll be considering implementing new prefixed items that have a various range of bonus types and stats so that you will not only have more to choose from, but there will be more to strategize with.

    It is impossible for us to get everything in the first update, so we'll have to take it in stages. The first stages has a number of things we've been wanting to have addressed, and then some, but unfortunately we can't get everything we want done in a single update. So some issues, like the additional prefixed items and gear will have to wait an update or so while we get it put together to make it available.

    I agree that the battle aspect of carts underused and like you, I agree it's because of the fuel. Though it wasn't stated directly, this falls under the Updates still in progress,
    "Consumable Items Cool Down Timer Balancing."

    Drops weren't included to Miscellaneous, because it is fairly specific to include as miscellaneous. The details that are being prepared for the changes to the drop system are still being prepared.

    The update has not been scheduled yet. We are still working on some aspects of the update, as well as towards having a public test server. Our desire is to have a public test period with the update, so that it can be tested more thoroughly for any last minute adjustments needed, before it is placed on the live servers. This puts the live server out of immediate risk of unforeseen issues or imbalances untested. It also allows for the community to experience the update and be able to test the changes to their characters, without actually being forced to have those changes remain permanent or costly.

    Crafting is not being fully addressed in this update. That is intended for the following update projects.

    Class requirements will not be given to any current shield equipment. Perhaps in the future, but not with this update. The issue regarding another class wearing a shield wasn't seen as the issue behind the imbalance, but other reasons, which have been worked on.

    A stat and/or skill reset is not going to be a forced issue with the update.

    Well that's what I'm looking forward to. I'm not looking forward to changes in armor. I love muse class best, and their defense is gonna drop dramaticly. Hope you're not making us too weak Leo. It's already hard enough to survive in sikuku prison the way it is now. Don't underpower muse class like you did with Knight class, that would cause a lot of angry people (including me).

    No, Clerics will not be weak, in fact one of the GMs commented that I made them stronger, however the other classes became just as strong to equalize the balance issues already in-game. We're still making minor adjustments. Clerics get the advantage of fighting straight with magic attacks, even as 'melee'. This is their benefit, however going against a strong magic defensive target will be their challenge. This is where the modifications to their summons will come into play, if they choose to solo, otherwise partying is an exceptional advantage now.

    I mentioned this in another post, but shields having a job class requirement wasn't the issue that we saw to be the problem. So we haven't added any job class requirements to current shields. Other adjustments were made instead, and so far through testing, we're very pleased with the changes.

    Will the DEX stat also give M-Spd / A-Spd or anything else?

    Currently no, that is something that is part of the more basic mechanics to game play, which we have not tampered with, yet. It is likely that the first update will not contain some of the lower fundamental changes needed, such as damage, dodge, movement or attack speed. These basic fundamental calculations are delicate to game balance and creating new calculations requires a considerable amount of review.

    Though many of the exploitable issues are able to be addressed with the balances already released, we are still looking to add these other changes in the future. Again, as I stated before, with calculations such as damage, our goal is that the change will be unnoticed should you be fighting a target within your level range. What will be noticed is that if you are attempting to fight a monster far above your rightful level range.

    Also, if Garnets are being powered up, shouldn't the Legend prefix (or alternatively the DEX bonus given from it) be removed? Otherwise I imagine hawkers will get too much DEX (and perhaps be overpowered) from combining Legend equipments with Garnets.

    No, because we have plans to include additional prefixes in the future that provide a range of stats and bonuses. Also with some of the expected monster updates, they will be needed.

    Dragon Skin was modified, but keep in mind the Muse class is not intended to be a tanking class. They are supportive or offensive by Magic and range. They aren't intended to get into the mix of a melee fight by design. Though you can create a build that would be able to survive better with close range combat, it is now what they are designed for.

    Can we expect Meteorite flow of fire mage to be decreased in both power and reload time?

    Yes.

    The plan is that we put up the public test server, let it test for approximately 2 weeks to make sure everything runs well and there's nothing seriously wrong. This also gives the opportunity for you to test character builds, skill builds and find where a good place to level is. Setting up a public test server takes some time. Our development is continuing to make further adjustments and advances in other projects while the test server is worked on, so that it runs closer to our ending goals for the next couple updates and we can focus on some new content for ROSE.
