- Certains items seront grade 8.
- Eqs dorsaux (wings, backshields, bags) :

Alright, so here is the news on some things kept secret about the update.
As you know this update was being heavily aimed at the crafting skill tree for dealers and artisans. But some other things were addressed as well that cover a more global aspect as well. Read on to see some of the major things that are being addressed with this update.
As many of you know, blue items are being introduced to the skill tree. How this is being done is through the use of rare materials and blades found from disassembly. The skill tree has been expanded heavily because of the additional blue crafting options, which will make choosing your path as a crafter, important provided you don't wish to constantly reset yourself.
Additional ammunitions are being included to the crafting system, so higher grades of all ammunition types will be available for craft.
Weapon & Armor grades have been redistributed to cover a more even range of equipment. Additionally, back items are now refine-able with a newly introduced refine material, Apotrope.
With all of the changes happening more changes have been made to the drop system. Many items have been scaled back, especially gemstones and blue equipment. However, at the same time, more equipment have been added as well. The drops have been redone to closer relate to the level ranges of the map and monster. There have been many more additions to what can drop from a single monster, however the rarity has been scaled accordingly as well to allow items to be truly rare. As always, we will continue to monitor the feed back regarding drops, and will make adjustments as needed.
And finally, a new addition for crafters, hand thrown explosives. Crafters will be able to create various explosives to help cover their loss for actual combat, by creating explosive devices they can throw. These items will only be able to be held by the dealer who creates them (it would be irresponsible for a dealer to give an item of such danger to another person). So they will be bound to the character upon creation. It also means that they cannot be placed into storage (the Storage Keepers denied to house such explosive materials to be placed in their care in any quantity).
Currently the Pegasus server is being prepared for launch with the Crafting Update. Character data will be taken from the latest maintenance period for use on the test server.
We are very much looking forward to the feed back and comments from the community regarding the update. We hope to hear some positive feed back and will be sure to review any feed back of negative nature. The goal of the update was to help provide further balance to game play as well as allow for more enjoyment while playing.
So that's it for now, that's my little blip of information while I continue to prepare more detailed informational packages for the various aspects of change with the update. There is still a lot of room for adjustments with the update, but the core functionality and design concepts are there for testing. Though we're happy with how the update has tested internally, we look forward to hearing the feed back from the community and will be sure to review all the feed back carefully for consideration to any adjustments needed. Again, Pegasus is currently being worked on to be put back online. Once it is, it will be announced.

ill the back armor purchased from the item mall also be refineable?
Yes, it is expected to launch with an Item Mall update, likely at the same time the update is launched for the Leonis server.

Heheh, but seriously you mentioned "unless you want to constantly reset" does this suggest skill resets will be readily available on a permanent basis or is that code for "stock up on skill resets when we offer them again artisans if you want to do this"
Really good to hear some news Leo, just wish we could experience each small new feature as they're created on the test server. My arti's hurting pretty bad. I hope these grenades are incredible and make for some interesting kera/prison experiences.
Can you shed ANY light on what this new refinining item will do? higher success rates or just for back items?[...]
It's not a hint at all on anything really, I'm sure many of you would have realized it anyhow upon testing. There will be skill books readily available on the test server from various NPCs, however they will not carry over to the live server. This is for testing purposes only, so there are some exceptions made to the server. I will leave the judgment of usefulness of the grenades to the community, though we're pleased with their effective use and power.
The new refining item, Apotrope, is simply the new refine item that will be needed for refining in-game back items. They will function the same way as any other refine would otherwise.Cynics a écrit :
Are the new refine items going to be a rare drop, or commonly seen?
Though I can't really say whether the refine will be rare or not, it will be seen as players go through the world testing. The test server will be a place to experience the update and provide your feed back to whether you like or dislike an aspect of the update. So if you find that the refine is too difficult to locate, indicate so. There likely is going to be a section of the forums dedicated to feed back from the update as we have done so in the past. So please, don't be shy, be sure to write in and give your account for your experience in either your joys or frustrations so we can take them into considerations for future adjustments before it reaches the Leonis server.

Thank you for the quick response time, Leo
Can high levels have something that drops gems besides bosses and ghosts? I'm fine with guys in marsh not dropping above grade 4 but it'd be nice if we had a gem drop that was rare as well we could farm either in Marsh or Forest of Wandering.I hate de-leveling my 11x constantly just to stay in range of the penguins. Thanks for reading.
Gems have been scaled back heavily in their drop rate, however nearly every monster has the chance of a gem drop. Some more then others, which is what the community will have to figure out from here on. But don't expect them to come nearly as easily as before. We did want gems to become more sourced from Crafters, then from drops, so they are now a rarity to be found from drop. Higher grades will drop as you progress, but the rarity slightly increases as well. You will have an easier time getting the gemstones from a crafter, then you would hunting for the gem itself. Currently, there are some other plans for near future as well and will be implemented shortly after the launch of Pegasus. We want to have the core functions of the update tested first before some of the additional crafting content we have prepared is introduced.
DestinyDeoxys a écrit :
can you be specify on the back items refining? like (0) to (9) or (0) to (5), does it have a chance to fail or you just make the refine mats "Apotrope" super rare
They will function just like any other armor or weapon piece through the refine system. They have a chance of breaking past the safe point and you will lose the item upon failure past that safe point.
calaaniwygen a écrit :
Q1: You mentioned that item mall back items will be refinable. But what about normal in game back items???
I answered a question about item mall back items, my original statement was addressing normal in-game back items first. Please carefully read my posts so you don't miss information and feel like you have to wait for an answer when it is already available.
Q2: when Item mall back items become refinable, will they be subjected to the same refine procedure as normal eq? ie. will they risk breaking/destruction after going past the "safe line".
Yes they will be subject to the same refining process and risks of normal equipment in-game. No, this is not gambling, because you aren't receiving monetary compensation for your success. You are given points with your monthly subscription, which are a bonus to your subscription and free. Additional points purchased are provided for those who are short points to purchase items with subscription points.
I like the idea of the bound thrown explosives, since I have actually wanted to see something like this for a long time.
Though I am just wondering about the intensity of the explosives, will they risk over power the class?Yes, it does pose a risk of overpowering the class, this is why it's being tested first for feed back from the community. So make sure you provide your feed back on that part of the update if you have something you wish to suggest.
since you mention dealers are able to craft them, that would mean that bourgs would also be able to make and throw them which in some cases would cause a serious over powering issue.
Not necessarily, the first tier bombs that are generated from the dealer's 1st class crafting skill, aren't nearly as strong as the artisan's ability to craft. They may be a helpful added bonus, but they pale in the natural power that come from the Artisan's craft. However, again, this is still something we hope to hear feed back on because we understand it is an aspect of player choice with the available skill systems.
MLCBCM a écrit :
Do something about the storage space.
We are still working on expanding the storage space available in-game.
Will artisans still have to go through the tedious acts of refining one potion at a time or will we be able to mass produce?
For now, yes. This is another aspect of crafting that is still being worked on for the future.
Will we still have to restock the slots every time we craft potion?
Unfortunately yes, for now. As above, it is something that is still being worked on.
Will grenades be damn near impossible to obtain just like the advanced potions are?
No, they will not. In fact they're quite easy, however some of the more advanced grenades types will be more costly then the beginning ones.
Will grenades be worth the cost to craft them, unlike the advanced potions? Because it's intended to be a frequently useful tool, it's aimed to function like ammunition so the cost is low and equates to the output, much like ammunition does.
Hephaestus a écrit :
@Leonis
My question involves the ammunition types. Your post said that new types will be craftable. Does that mean we will have to go to an artisan to craft arrows/cannons/bullets now? There will be a few of the next step tiered ammunition available from some NPCs, but not all ammunition types. The more advanced ammunition types will be from Dealers and Artisans. You will be able to see what's available once the server is up and ready to go, so check it out and let us know what you think. As everything else, there's still room for adjustment!
And if they are only craftable with drop materials, how will this be set up so that we don't use more of the crafted ammunition farming materials than we can craft?
The way it is setup is flexible and should be of little hassle to collect materials, depending of course on which arrow you're attempting to have crafted.
Also, are you going to make artisans craft each piece 1 by 1 or have you gotten a multitude system up yet?
Rather then crafting them 1 by 1, which I know would have been a pain, what will be crafted instead is a 'Dispenser'. Each dispenser will have the ability to yield up to 50 arrows per craft, however the downside to crafting en'mass, is that the quality of your batch may not always be perfect, no matter how skilled you are, so expect anywhere from 1 to 50 arrows to yield from the dispenser.
It seems rather odd that a scout will have to go to an artisan to get arrows. Aren't hunters supposed to be resourceful, so wouldn't they be able to create their own weaponry and ammunition?
You won't have to go to a crafter for better arrows, as I said above, some NPCs will provide some higher tier arrows, but not the selection a crafter would be able to provide.

Well I could wait for the test server, but rather ask you about this right now.Of course
1. Will the explosives from artisans be area of effect? I can't really imagine a grenade that only specificly targets 1 monster so I think it's pretty obvious it will just have to be AOE.
Actually, they will be single target. The AoE effect of the grenades would have been too powerful, not to mention draw too much aggression and kill yourself. So, not what we wanted and very much not the fun. The single target worked out better to allow it to have the punch it has shown to have with our internal testing.
2. Have you looked into gem crafting? Because if you haven't I still can't level my artisan. It's a gem crafter and at higher level it will only fail more....
Yes we have looked and well, the only one way to find out with the test server, is to give it a shot.
3. Are the explosives consumables or will there be a special skill for them?
Consumables, however you will need to target what you want to throw at and you need to be within the throwing range. If you're not, you will not throw and you will not walk up to range and throw either. So make sure you're in range when you try.
4. About the power of the explosives. Is its power related to your own attack power?
Somewhat, they have their own power alone, but your own attack power will influence it's overall damage as well. So yes, getting buffed will increase their damage.
Well that's all. I hope you made some molotov explosives (with burn effect ofcourse). Just being able to throw a molotov at someone in TG sounds awesome to me. I also wonder about the reload timer. I hope it won't be too long
10 seconds, per bomb. It seemed to work well in conjunction with other aspects of game play.
CoffeeMuse a écrit :
I haven't read evey post so I may have missed it, but has there been anything said about artisans being able to craft Emeralds, Periodots and Diamonds with the new crafting update.
BTW, I'm happy to hear that back items can be refined now. I always loved the shiney wings in the beta version. Me wants Shiney wings again! It's not in this post, it was in another post long ago, but yes Emeralds and Peridots and Diamonds will be in the Gem Crafting menu.
Helba a écrit :
u mentioned scaling down the drop rate of gemstones leo. I personally think this is a bad idea as gems r at there prime right now in the community. They are priced just right and they drop at a perfect rate. To decrease the drop rate could only cos problems to the price of gems i.e a sudden inflation of price.
A suggestion i have for gem crafting... I think that diamonds and peridots should not be made craftable and be only obtainable through bosses like they are right now, to keep them something special. However, i think that emeralds should be made craftable, as they are part of the main base stats eg. dex. con, int... and it would only be fair to make sen just as even. Peridots and diamonds have extra stats and should be kept seperate from the others.I appreciate the concern and suggestion, but remember this is a test server trial for the update. So please jump in, see what you think and provide your feed back after testing it for a while. Some of the drop changes may seem drastic, but that's due to the fact we widened the range of where gems drop by a considerable amount to help prevent the issue of spawn camping.
KillTheRax a écrit :
I think they should all be craft able and make it so no gemstone past grade 4 drops so Artisans have something special again.
Something we also saw becoming an issue within the economy and from various players. The scale back of gemstones wasn't only in the frequency, but the quality of gems as well. A grade 3 gemstone is the highest you will find, if you're lucky enough to get such a drop.
I expect this Q&A will spark some other questions, but please remember this update is first being applied to Pegasus, our test server. You will have the opportunity to provide your feed back and thoughts to help influence the update's final state before reaching Leonis and even beyond that things still have the ability to change for balance, economy and enjoyment of game play. Please also remember, not everyone can be given what they want and it all is taken with the salt of consideration to ROSE Online as a whole. Remember we've been working to improve the game play for ROSE so that we can have a stable base to build on for future content. This is the second major step to take us into that direction.
I ask you to hold on any suggestions or ideas to change the update as it has been explained to you already, until after you've gotten the chance to test it.

so are we expecting pegasus server to be up this tuesday?
Pegasus doesn't follow the standard maintenance schedule because it is not a constant server. It is a test server, it will be treated as one and brought on or offline as needed.
and another question, with only 3rd grade dropping what will be the significance of hunting bosses now?
Next week is the only estimation available from our technical teams. There were a number of factors that influenced the decision to scale the grade of gems to go no higher then 3rd grades.
Tessa a écrit :
1. Few weeks ago the dev team made some changes (atk power principally) on weapons like 'Glacier Knuckle', 'Amazing Carrot', 'Jabberwock Nail' , etc. if I remember well, and I was wondering if these weapons were going to be implement during the crafting update ^^ ?
Those notes were posted because they were apart of the update applied that week. There may be other small updates that have been placed on hold in wait for the coming update because it was nearing completion.
2. Can we expect to have new Shields, backshields, jewels, coming with the new update ?
A few, which I will ask you to discover through the update.
3. Are Arua Stones going to be easier to get than it is now ? I mean, will we be able to get them from normal monsters and not only from the Clan War Dragon ?
I'm not going to say whether anything will be easier or more difficult to obtain beyond what I've already mentioned. Some items had their drop rate scaled back, while what they drop from was expanded to provide a balance.
4. As Diamonds, Peridots and Emeralds going to be craft-able, will they drop from normal monsters ? And if yes, what will be the max grade we will be able to get (even if it's very rare) ?
I already stated the change of drops in grades for gemstones. Please be sure to read my answers to previous posts.

Erm... an explosive without AoE. It would be the first explosive EVER not to have AoE. Congratulations on inventing that! xD
Everything still has to be crafted 1 at a time.
Does this mean we have to craft 1 bullet/arrow at a time? Does it mean we have to craft explosives 1 at a time?Arrows/Bullets/Shells, no. Explosives, yes.
Is there a chance explosives will become AoE.... if enough people ask for it?
lol, asking for an explosive to become AoE. Somehow it feels awkward xDI already explained why the explosives are not Area of Effect. It was not only too powerful, but should the target(s) not die, you are now a heavy monster magnet. Artisans did not survive making multiple monsters angry at them. Just think of the explosives to be highly focused in design.

Thank you for the updated information. Looks like it will be another great update.
One question, you mentioned about the fixing up the drops, am I to assume this will include what is in the chests in the prison as well?
Currently, everything I have gotten are available on the other maps, making those worthless.
Thanks and keep up the great work!Little was actually done to the chests, but we can still work on that through the testing period of the update. This is your chance to voice out your opinion for change once we get the proper forum section opened and test server online.
Note regarding Gems
Gemstones are intended for everyone. The grade of a gemstone shows a players dedication, determination and effort put forth towards not only game play but for their character. It should go without saying that the higher the grade the more difficult it should be to obtain. Final grades shouldn't be something easily obtained, the time it takes to accomplish reaching that final grade is dependant on the dedication, determination and effort put into having that gem.TruPain a écrit :
Now to agree...
the drop system for gems should not be overly rare... should be more rare than they are now, but also drop from any mob, that way, other players have a chance at getting gems without having to worry about a spot already being farmed... but I do not think that one should be able to get 15+ grade[4] gems per hour... but again, I also do not think that gems should drop to 1 grade[3] gem per 20 hours...Which is almost precisely what the new drop design's goal was. Thanks for not making me say it.

Are we going to get introduced to graade8 bindrune and talismans? Or is that going to be for future weapons and armors???The grades of equipment was redone because of the unbalanced amount of items that were graded, most of which were heavily 6th grade. So you will see that some grades will change and 8th grade will be making an appearance. The grades of equipment have been spread out evenly across, based on the level of the equipment compared to the maximum level a player can reach.

We were intending to update Pegasus today, as the patch is ready to go.
However, some hardware issues are going to prevent this goal from happening. We are planning to have these problems resolved early next week. When they are we will bring Pegasus up for everyone to begin testing.
I do apologize for this unforseen problem that is keeping you all from testing out the update today and through the weekend.
